I have a new lifetime running goal.
My goal is to run a sub 20 minute 5K. For me this would be fast. Really freaking fast.
To put it in perspective, the fastest I have ever run a mile was 7:14. I ran that in junior high when I didn’t have any extra weight on me. In the years since I have added a bunch more muscle (yay) and fat.
My race times
|9:05||28:14||2011 – turkey trot|
|8:02||25:00||current 1 mile pace|
I just started running and I haven’t gone further than a mile (I am on a mile a day challenge). I really have no idea what my 5K time would be. For sure it would be much higher than my 1 mile pace stretched over the 5k race.
I found a running converter where you can enter in a distance and it will approximate your time at different distances.
27:53 (using this online calculator)
That’s only about 8 minutes off of my goal. This is going to be awful/hard/fun.
