I am an 37 year old guy with a start of an improved body. I want to be a stud.

I exercise 5-6 times a week. I love lifting and do so willingly. I have lifted for 6+ years now so it has become a part of my identity and a deeply ingrained habit.

I haven’t done cardio consistently in years. My current challenge is setup to address that and get me started doing cardio.  I am running a mile a day for thirty days straight. Here is my start post and a post documenting my 1/2 way point in the challenge.

My Goal

  1. six pack (why the fuck not, right?)

For this reset of my fitness quest I am leaving this as one goal. All other issues (waist size, blood pressure, BMI, weight) all will be resolved when I reach my solitary goal. There is no need to make this any more complex than it needs to be.

The only catch is I want to stay big/strong. It’s no fun being tiny and having a six-pack. 14 year old boys can do that.

This website was started in 2009. It was restarted in 2016. I left some of the historic information below because it provides an interesting perspective. Fitness and personal development is definitely a marathon and NOT a sprint. See my 2016 restart post for additional information about what happened in the years between 2009 to 2016.

2009 (Original About Information)

I am a slob.  I want to be a stud.

A photo of me clothed. It's a little less traumatic than the pic of me in my underware.
A photo of me with my shirt on. However, you can’t tell in this crop but I am not wearing pants. ;)

I haven’t exercised regularly since college.  I am 31 :)

My “Issues”

  1. I am starting to show my weight more.  I have a gut and have a start to a double chin.
  2. I am overweight – 224 lbs on a 6′ 2″ frame
  3. Health issues – ex: high blood pressure, some sleep apnea issues
  4. I am out of shape. I get winded after walking up three flights of stairs.
  5. My BMI is 29.  That qualifies me as overweight.  30+ is obese

  1. be able to play 18 holes of golf and remain physically & mentally alert
  2. 34 ” jean size (started at a tight 36″)
  3. 6 pack abs :)
  4. be a stud – see the header photo
