Workout Routine

Phase 1  (11/09/09 – ?)

My first step is to lose weight.  I am not obese (cough) but I could stand to lose a few pounds.  I have the start of a double chin.  The best thing for my health and my motivation is going to be for me to cut the calories and start slimming down now.

Eventually I will add in weight lifting to start adding on more muscle.  But for now I am jumping in to Phase 1 with the following:

  1. Cardio
  2. Shovelglove
  3. Diet

I will be exercising (Cardio & Shovelglove) Sunday through Tuesday (5 days on 2 days off).  For my diet, I will be following the No-S Diet.  It has a common sense approach that resonates with me.

As I drafted this, I realized that I am really close to following Reinhard’s Everyday System’s (with the exception of the cardio). So as a favor to the somewhat photo wary Reinhard Engels.  Phase 1 is going to serve a dual purpose as a before and after for both myself and Everyday Systems.

Goals for Phase 1:

  1. 34″ jeans  (started with a tight 36″)
  2. walk up 3 flights of stairs without being winded (library)
  3. 195 lbs or less (started at 224 lbs). This should get me a 25 BMI (from 29 @ start)

Phase 2

After I complete all my Phase 1 goals I will move on to Phase 2.

Goals for Phase 2:

  1. six pack
